Efecto de la transición timina/citosina del gen BGH sobre parámetros reproductivos en ganado Holstein en Colombia
Resumen
La rentabilidad de los hatos lecheros depende en gran medida del mantenimiento de una alta eficiencia reproductiva. Una reproducción adecuada permite mayor producción de leche durante la vida del animal. El objetivo del trabajo fue determinar la asociación del polimorfismo del intrón 3 de la hormona de crecimiento bovino (BGH), con el número de servicios, días abiertos e intervalo entre partos en vacas de raza Holstein del departamento de Antioquia. El estudio se realizó con 415 vacas, ubicadas en 8 municipios del departamento de Antioquia. La genotipificación se llevó a cabo usando la técnica de PCR-RFLP con DNA extraído de sangre periférica mediante la técnica de salting out. La información fenotípica utilizada, fue recopilada durante 4 años, a partir de un programa de control de producción lechera vigente en los hatos. Para la asociación se realizaron análisis estadísticos con métodos paramétricos. Las frecuencias alélicas para los alelos (+) y (–) fueron 0,91 y 0,09. Las frecuencias genotípicas fueron (0,77), (0,2) y (0,03) para (+/+), (+/-) y (-/-) respectivamente. Se presentaron diferencias significativas entre las medias de los días abiertos, intervalo entre parto y número de servicios; para todas estas características los animales portadores del genotipo (+/+) tuvieron los parámetros menos favorables. Los resultados indican asociación del polimorfismo del intrón 3 de la hormona de crecimiento bovino con el número de servicios al primer parto, intervalo entre parto y los días abiertos facilitando la selección de estos genotipos para su utilización en programas de mejoramiento genético y reproductivo.
