The National Institute for Agricultural Research (INIA) has a large and successful group of informative technical publications, both printed and digital. The total content of the various modalities, recent and past, are freely accessible through the website and belong to the institutional documentary collection.
The first printed technology dissemination magazine, FONAIAP Divulga, began in 1981 and was maintained for 23 continuous years, successfully complying with the wide dissemination of agricultural technology generated in the institution and in Venezuela.
During the institutional transformation process, the National Agricultural Research Fund (FONAIAP) gave rise to the National Agricultural Research Institute (INIA) on August 25, 2000, with the consequent change of editorial line and name of the FONAIAP Divulga magazine to INIA Divulga, in order to continue with the long tradition and undertake a new challenge; resizing its scope in the dissemination of agricultural technology and knowledge in Venezuela.
With the advancement of technological resources, the digital magazine CENIAP Hoy was created at the National Center for Agricultural Research of INIA, which was published during the years 2003-2007; as of 2008 the name changes to become INIA TODAY. This change had its origin in the need to institutionalize a successful experience in the field of dissemination by electronic means and adapt to the reorganization process of INIA and the new guidelines on information, communication and publication of publications. The purpose was aimed at promoting and consolidating the participation and collaboration of all researchers and technicians of the institution, while contributing to the electronic dissemination of the technologies, products and services generated throughout the national territory.
Starting in 2010, INIA Hoy goes into a recess and merges with INIA Divulga with the purpose of joining forces to contribute to the construction of food sovereignty and the socialist agrarian model, following the guidelines of the Simón Bolívar National Plan.
In this way, INIA Divulga, in its digital and printed versions, continues to be the technical, informative and informative magazine, which captures contents of practical application for the inhabitants of the rural environment and disseminates topics of interest in the national agricultural field from research processes and technological and rural innovation.
At the present time INIA Divulga continues to generate the information required by farmers and technicians on investigative responses and innovation processes that are intended to promote compliance with the historical objectives of the Second Socialist Plan, the Plan de la Patria 2013-2019; offering users a high-level informative and informative technical tool, in digital and printed formats, to reach all corners and areas.
