Tangerine marketing in Trujillo state
Abstract
The tangerine (Citrus sinensis) as a fruit, constitutes a healthy food, rich in citric acid, vitamins A, B, C, and mineral salts, it provides great contributions of vitamins and minerals, as well as a pleasant flavor, it is easy to remove the rind and separation of their locules or segments; so its main form of consumption is as fresh fruit. Currently it is also used as a raw material for the production of juices and concentrates, mainly to make beverages. It is frequently used for the clarification of juices, making soft drinks and beverages. Although it should be noted that the flavor of mandarins is slightly astringent, which limits its consumption as direct juice. It is also used to obtain essential oils from the bark, which is used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry.
