Abstract

The lechesa is one of the most consumed fruit trees by Venezuelans due to its pleasant flavor, which has allowed it to be used both for direct consumption or processed in the form of sweets, juices and jams, reporting for the year 2013 a consumption of 21 .7 g/person/day. Likewise, it has the advantage of being adaptable to a wide range of conditions, it is economically profitable in small production systems and it can be planted in association with other crops.
