Abstract

In Venezuela, from the beginning of the government of former President Hugo Chávez until the current mandate of President Nicolás Maduro, the political commitment to family farming has been evident: To begin, it stands out that the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela condemns large estates and provides that the State must develop agriculture as a means of social development. To ensure the necessary change in the rural area, a legal framework has been implemented: the Land and Agrarian Development Law of 2001. Through it, a fair distribution of wealth and strategic, democratic and participatory planning are sought. to land ownership and development of all agricultural activity.
