Agroecology at the school level: learning from experience. Part I
Abstract
Agroecology refers to agriculture designed for the well-being of human beings, health, food, care for the environment and the future. The teaching of Agroecology must begin from basic education, as a way to train citizens who respect and value natural resources and who acquire skills and abilities for their management and sustainable use, for personal, family and community improvements. That is why educational institutions should promote its study, through small-scale production of school gardens, with an agroecological vision, which allows students to appropriate agroecological techniques, in addition to understanding that there are friendly production alternatives. with the environment and that, from their training in the classroom, they become aware of the importance of relating to nature without destroying or damaging it, ensuring that boys and girls learn and develop a positive and critical attitude in relation to the management of resources. natural and motivation towards research is achieved.
