Research, training and dissemination: three keys to collective action for community awareness

Abstract

Popular research tends to break the classic hierarchies of institutional power and allows, in a broad sense, to gain spaces for the valuation of the knowledge generated in the communities. In Venezuela we are totally sure that the work based on the reality of our people, producers, innovators, students, among others, is just as valuable as the studies carried out by Venezuelan scientists. Both efforts build knowledge, with different spaces and themes, but with one purpose: to provide knowledge to the nation and Venezuelan culture, generating awareness that it must be contextualized, relevant and supportive.
