Guanapito More than a pioneering Experimental Fish Farming Station
Abstract
Nine kilometers from Altagracia de Orituco, in the Monagas municipality of the Guariqueña region, the Guanapito Local Experimental Station attached to the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA), surrounded by a large mountainous mass, with lush vegetation and a pleasant climate, has become a pilot center for fish farming in the state since the 1970s and is classified by the country's fish farming history as a pioneer in this task. This work is of great importance - both regionally and nationally - to contribute to the production of animal protein for consumption by Venezuelans.
