La Escuela Socialista de Agricultura Tropical del Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Agrícolas y su Expansión Territorial.
Abstract
The Socialist School of Tropical Agriculture (ESAT) is a high priority training project that is created in view of the need to consolidate the research, teaching and extension experiences historically developed by and from the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA), in accordance with what is established in Article No. 6 of the Law that creates INIA. This makes it possible to make these strengths the platform of thought for training in agriculture, as an adjunct to desirable solutions to reduce scientific and technological gaps, as well as to assume the training challenges arising from the structural transformation of national agriculture.
The National Council of Universities (CNU) by resolution N ° 38 dated 05/25/2005, published in the official gazette of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela N ° 38,234 of 07/22/2005, authorized the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA ) to dictate postgraduate programs leading to academic degrees, and INIA creates the Higher School of Tropical Agriculture. Subsequently, according to resolution No. 820 of the Board of Directors of INIA issued on 09/13/2007, it is called the Socialist School of Tropical Agriculture (ESAT).
The objective of the work that is presented below aims to show the progress that has been made in the ESAT within the framework of its philosophy and the commitments acquired to make education a tool that contributes to the integral agricultural development of the country, with a territorial vision.
