Abstract
The year 2020 brings together two relevant events, such as the 70th Anniversary of our Tropical Agronomy magazine and the celebration of the International Year of Plant Health. They are two important events for national agriculture. The occasion is propitious, to highlight the relevance that the publication of Tropical Agronomy had for the agricultural area since its inception. Throughout its seventy years, it allowed countless researchers, from various specialties and nationalities, to present their contributions related to the advances and innovations generated in the agricultural sector. The other important issue to highlight is the celebration that arises from a decision made in 2018 by the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) where they proclaim 2020 as the International Year of Plant Health. In this regard, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization issued a series of guidelines to guide this celebration. Among them, he highlighted the invitation to disseminate information on issues related to plant health. In this sense, the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA), through its magazine Agronomía Tropical, joins this celebration by emphasizing the contents of the volume70, on issues related to plant health.
